The sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is on the way, and one big change to the cast is Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie Lang, the teenaged daughter of Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).
Cassie has always been a curious and intelligent child, and we could tell from the first trailer for the film that she has jumped right into the family business of quantum physics and crime-fighting. Newton has spoken a little about her take on the character now that she is a teenager on top of all the complications of their unique situation.
Newton explained in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight:
“That I’m really not perfect and I’m super impatient and I want to be a hero but I have no idea what I’m doing and I think Cassie Lang is like that. She’s just trying to figure out how to be a good person and you know making a lot of mistakes. She’s kind of a mess really, yeah, and so am I. You’re definitely gonna see some of that. Oh, my good heart.”
Cassie appears to be causing some trouble in this upcoming film, as her father jumps in after her when she accidentally gets sucked into the quantum realm.
The story’s heroes, which include Hope van Dyne’s Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Janet Pym (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), will face off against an extremely dangerous villain, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to hit theatres on February 17, 2023.
