Today (Feb 10th), rising star and showstopping performer Reyna Roberts released her new song ‘Another Round’ featuring Tayler Holder via EMPIRE led by the Nashville division. It was written by Roberts, Laura Veltz, and Jimmy Robbins and showcases Roberts’ powerful vocals as well as her unique ability to write music from a strictly fictional perspective.
“I really wanted to experiment with the various meanings that the phrase ‘another round’ could have,” Roberts explained. “My goal was to write a story that addressed all of the various reasons why people might be hesitant to have ‘another round’ in life, whether it’s another round of a relationship, drinks, or any other vice. And because I had never been in a relationship when I had the idea for this song, I wrote the lyrics entirely from my imagination. Then, after going through a breakup, I truly understood the feelings behind the music.”
‘Another Round’ follows Roberts latest single ‘Pretty Little Devils’. The contrast between the two songs demonstrates Roberts’ creative range, as she can write and perform music from all genres of country music. And networks have taken notice of Roberts’ catchy hooks, with the NFL Network recently including her song ‘See Me Win’ in their 2023 Spotlight Series. ‘Stompin’ Grounds,’ her debut single, was also featured on ESPN’s Monday Night Football throughout the 2020 season.
The singer-songwriter, the daughter of two Army combat engineers, was inspired by the country, rock, and pop influences she listened to as a child in Alabama, including Christina Aguilera, Gretchen Wilson, Beyoncé, and The Chicks. These influences have melded into Roberts’ own distinct sound, defying the confines of traditional genre rules.
