Dua Lipa is back with more nail art. The singer shared a photo of her most recent manicure on her Instagram Story, and it’s safe to say she’s back in love with maximalist nail art.
Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” tour has taken her all over the world, and she finally made a stop in New York City to see one of her favourite nail artists: Mei Kawajiri. Lipa showed off her new nails, which featured a pop-art-inspired chain detail, captioning the photo “we back baby.” Her nails were filed to a soft oval shape and began with a black base coat. Then, yellow chain-linked nail art was added to each finger, along with white pop-art stars, to give the look a fun, youthful feel.
Lipa has been seen in everything from Kawaii to water droplet nails, with the latest look only cementing her love for maximalist manicures. While Lipa has always preferred more eye-catching details, maximalist nails are expected to be a big trend this fall. There are a few options to consider in order to achieve the look. “Think decals, metallic foils, nail stickers, gold cuffs, chains, spikes, and even 3D shapes,” previously told POPSUGAR Brittney Boyce, celebrity nail artist, Orly brand ambassador, and founder of Nails of LA. Boyce also suggests nail wraps and press-ons to achieve the look at home. Take a closer look if you need more inspiration.
