According to an email obtained by Reuters, Elon Musk will hold a town hall meeting with Twitter’s advertisers on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific (1800 GMT), in an effort to reassure brands and advertising agencies that are increasingly turning away from the social media platform.
Major advertisers such as General Motors and General Mills have pulled their ads from Twitter, citing concerns that the billionaire and Twitter’s new owner may relax content moderation rules.
A coalition of civil rights organisations has also increased pressure on Twitter’s advertisers, demanding that they suspend ads globally after Musk laid off roughly half of the company’s workforce. Musk attributed “a massive drop in revenue” to the coalition.
