LIL BABY FOLLOWS IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF KILLER MIKE BY CREATING HIS OWN BARBERSHOP

Lil Baby is always looking for ways to give back to his community, and it appears that he has begun construction on his own barbershop in Atlanta.
Construction on the shop, aptly named Baby’s Barbershop, appears to be well underway, as the 4PF boss gave fans a sneak peek of its progress in a TikTok video posted over the weekend.

“A barbershop is being built.” “I’ll show you once it’s done,” he captioned the video, which showed him getting a new haircut from popular barber Vic Blends.

“Let’s open one for the city,” Baby said in the comments section. It’s unclear when Baby’s Barbershop will open, but based on the TikTok video, it may not be long.

Killer Mike’s SWAG Shop — short for “Shave, Wash, And Groom” — has three locations in Atlanta, including one inside the State Farm Arena, so Lil Baby will not be the first rapper to open a barbershop.

“Once I got my respect up there and became an established rapper, the only other thing I’d ever dreamed about doing was owning a barbershop,” Mike said in a Noisey documentary in 2015.

“Barbershops are one of the most successful businesses in our community, but there is no real organisation in terms of franchising, so I had the idea that I would like to see a series of barbershops, whether privately owned or franchised, that you knew when you arrived in the city and that I could go to.”

Lil Baby’s barbershop announcement comes after the release of his latest album, It’s Only Me, which featured Future, Young Thug, EST Gee, and others.

The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with roughly 216,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, ranking it third in 2022 behind Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (295,000) and Future’s I Never Liked You (222,000).
