Miley Cyrus’s New Year’s Eve Party is returning to NBC, and this time she’ll be joined by country legend Dolly Parton to ring in the new year.
Pete Davidson, who co-hosted the special last year, will be replaced by Dolly Parton. Lorne Michaels will executive produce the event, which will feature a star-studded lineup of performances and special guests yet to be announced.
Parton is also Cyrus’ godmother and a major musical influence. Cyrus has performed Parton’s song “Jolene” on numerous occasions, and the two have even performed the song together previously. A video of the two performing the song can be found below.
Last year’s Miami special featured Brandi Carlile, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jack Harlow, and Saweetie. Since 2014, the inaugural show has delivered NBC’s best New Year’s Eve viewership in both the 18-49 and 18-34 demographics.
“We know this year’s show will be just as spectacular, with plenty of surprises and lots of fun,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Live Events, Specials, and E! News, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We can’t wait to start the party.”
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will be broadcast live on NBC from Miami on Saturday, December 31 from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET, and will also be streamed live on Peacock.
Lorne Michaels and Miley Cyrus executive produce Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. Den of Thieves will be executive produced by Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager. Tish Cyrus’ Hopetown Entertainment also produced it, and Joe DeMaio directed it.
