Jake Paul is someone Yoel Romero wishes to run across.
Jake Paul, a popular YouTuber and undefeated boxer, has expressed interest in fighting the multiple-time UFC title challenger and current Bellator contender Romero (14-6 MMA, 1-1 BMMA), who is back in action this Friday at Bellator 285 against veteran Melvin Manhoef.
When MMA Junkie asked Romero who he’d like to fight, Romero responded in Spanish, “That same kid, Jake Paul, sure, yes, him.” “He needs to be made to feel inferior and informed that he cannot compete with a true athlete. No matter how hard he trains, nothing changes. He’ll never defeat one.
Paul will soon compete in his sixth professional boxing match. On October 29 in Phoenix, he’ll face former UFC champion Anderson Silva, age 47, in an eight-round fight.
Paul has experience fighting in the boxing ring against MMA legends. He just defeated former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley twice in a row, and before that, he had defeated Ben Askren, a former ONE and Bellator champion.
Romero wants to participate in the sweet science before it’s all said and done, Paul or no Paul.
Romero, a multiple-time world champion in wrestling and a silver medallist for Cuba at the Olympics, is descended from a family of boxers. Although his father encouraged him to pursue boxing, he ultimately chose to pursue wrestling.
Romero declared, “I want to box and fight in boxing. “I’d like to participate in one or two boxing matches. One of my greatest dreams would be to see myself in a boxing ring.
“Like I mentioned in a prior interview, it would like whacking my dad across the head with a hammer. My dad would have liked boxing, which is what my entire family does. But I’m here and have the chance to make it happen; participating in boxing matches is one of my objectives.
“My brother, my dad, and my cousins, yes. In Cuba, this is the family with the most boxing medals.
