Dixie D’Amelio has entered her blonde phase.
At YSL‘s fall/winter 2023 event, the TikToker said goodbye to her signature black hair colour and debuted a dramatic platinum pixie. Dixie wore her hair in a choppy, undone textured style—almost as if she ran her fingers through it after a good night’s sleep—and let her long bangs graze her brows, which were left untouched and remained in their natural brunette shade.
“I am having more fun tbh,” she wrote, praising Dimitris Giannetos for her daring appearance. “Thank you @ysl for a fantastic show tonight.”
What prompted Dixie’s drastic change? Dimitris tells E! News exclusively that Linda Evangelista inspired them.
“Linda, like Dixie, had her signature dark locks before she went platinum,” he explained. “I also had to bleach Dixie’s hair twice and then tone it to achieve an icy platinum colour.”
He wanted to give the social media star an edge rather than a high-glamour look for Paris Fashion Week.
“I wanted the colour to look rougher rather than polished,” Dimitris explained. “I did a bowl pixie cut with an undone finish for a more rock ‘n’ roll texture.”
Of course, the 21-year-bleach-blonde old’s look was not the only noteworthy fashion moment.
She matched her daring transformation with an equally daring outfit, a cheeky lingerie set that included a black form-fitting tank top and matching underwear. She paired her sheer midiskirt with an oversized blazer and sandal heels.
In recent years, the Dixie D’Amelio Show star has pushed the boundaries of fashion and beauty. She decided to get a buzzcut in September of last year.
“I’ve wanted to do this since sixth grade,” she said in her YouTube video about the process. “I’ve been sad recently, but I don’t want to say anything because I don’t want anyone to think I’m going crazy.”
Dixie exclaimed, “What the f—k did I just do?” after reaching the point of no return. When she saw herself in the mirror, she asked to be cut even shorter. “Oh my God, I don’t have any hair,” she exclaimed. “Holy s—t, I like it a lot.”
And it’s clear from her most recent transformation that she’s not afraid to experiment with her appearance.
