Chaka Zulu, a Longtime Manager of Ludacris, has been Charged with Murder

Chaka Zulu, Ludacris’ longtime manager, has been charged with murder.

The seasoned music entrepreneur, whose legal name is Ahmed Obafemi, was reportedly detained earlier this week in connection with an Atlanta shooting on June 26. According to reports, Zulu and two other people got into a physical argument in a parking lot of a shopping mall that resulted in shooting. Artez Benton, 23, was killed in the shooting, according to the police, while Zulu and a third person were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to reports, Zulu, who co-founded the record label Disturbing Tha Peace, turned himself in to the police on September 13 and was soon after released on bond. He was also accused of simple battery, aggravated assault, and having a gun while committing a crime.

TMZ had received information from sources that the incident occurred when Zulu, his associate, and a friend were leaving a Buckhead event. The males were accosted by someone as they were crossing the parking lot, who allegedly struck Zulu with his chest. Others reportedly attacked Zulu and knocked him to the ground after a fight broke out.
