While training for WWE WrestleMania 37, John Morrison recalled Bad Bunny having the utmost respect for the wrestling business.
At the 2021 event, Bad Bunny teamed up with Damien Priest to defeat Morrison and The Miz. The Puerto Rican rapper’s WrestleMania 37 performance was widely regarded as one of the best of the weekend.
Morrison credited his former opponent for working hard in preparation for the match in an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Aiden James:
“Whether you believe it or not, I’ve worked with a few celebrities, including Kevin Federline, Snooki, and Bad Bunny.” Bad Bunny was a lifelong wrestling fan with so much respect for the industry that it was really cool to be around him and see how much effort he put into training.” [4:09 – 4:30]
How John Morrison felt about receiving a rare move in WWE ?
During their WrestleMania 37 match, Bad Bunny hit John Morrison with a Canadian Destroyer at ringside.
Morrison had no problem with the celebrity performing the rare athletic move in WWE:
“He [Bad Bunny] relocated to Orlando and postponed some of his tour dates to learn the business.” He wanted to be a part of the business, not just go through the moves and rehearse the match, and for that reason it felt really cool to take a Canadian [Destroyer] from him because I feel like he earned it and deserved it, and not every celebrity who takes part in WrestleMania does.” [4:30 – 4:59]
Backlash, the first premium live event following WrestleMania 39, will take place on May 6 in Puerto Rico. The show’s host has been announced as Bad Bunny.
